About Dollmob
Dollmob is built on three core beliefs:
- No one should have to justify the seriousness or value of a hobby simply because it's been dismissed as feminine, niche, sentimental, or strange.
- Trading privacy, attention, and emotional well-being for access to connection or information is a terrible status quo and we deserve better.
- Art is for everyone.
Dollmob is a place for doll collectors, artists, makers, and vendors from all over the world to share ideas and connect over a common interest that brings us joy.
Dollmob rejects the idea that any platform should position itself as the final authority on a community it exists to serve. Doll art is global, imaginative, technically diverse, and culturally expansive. It cannot be reduced to a single standard determined by a small group of people.
Dollmob will build tools that let users recognize kindness, expertise, and creativity, and develop protections against harmful behavior - because people share more freely when they trust the space around them. A community that treats human complexity as a threat does not become safer; it becomes smaller.
Dollmob exists to defy the corporate model that trades your privacy and attention for connection. It will reject predatory algorithms and deceptive advertising forever.
The hope is that Dollmob will become something that honors what makes this hobby special: This artform is defined by multiplicity - of skill, talent, form and expression. Dolls often cross borders, languages and disciplines to come together. They only exist through the collective efforts and imaginations of a diverse community working together. That's worth claiming space for at the very least.
