Why Scale Changes Impact

Small differences add up. A service used by tens of millions of people each day generates dramatically more emissions than a smaller platform, even when each individual visit appears insignificant on its own.

To support more traffic and data processing for non-user content like targeted advertising, larger platforms operate more infrastructure which leads to higher energy consumption and carbon output.

Reducing per-visit impact can only do so much. Distributing activity to small, focused projects when we can changes the equation.

Dollmob doesn't have commercial interests or a global audience to serve - it has a focused feature set and small user base, which means less server waste and a smaller environmental impact.
